Engine Audio has begun work as Audio Lead on an underwater Stealth game called Depth. From the same team that created the online zombie hit Killing Floor, Depth is based in an underwater world of Aztec ruins. Modern-day divers face off with menecing sharks in a battle for treasure, and their lives. This multiplayer game is based on the Unreal technology, and is intended for commercial release.

Creating sounds for a game based entirely underwater has presented unique challenges from a sound perspective. Below water can often be a sparse landscape and sharks are silent predators, so coming with a unique soundscape has been fun. Depth plays like a stealth game at times, but also has a fun online first person "shooter" feel other times. The satifaction of chomping another player as a shark is great. We like to think it is the most violent first person "shooter" without guns in production.

Engine Audio led the audio design for the popular mod Battlefield 2 Engine called Desert Conflict with many players and thousands of downloads. We recorded, designed, and integrated the sound for the game. We also composed and mixed the music for this trailer. Big thanks to the DCON team for the excellent visuals in the game! http://www.desertconflict.org

Here is a look at the mix session for the Desert Conflict. Most of the sounds in the promo video are from the game with a few sweeteners thrown in for the video. We used a Digidesign ICON console to mix the music and sound efx into the final product. Watch as we run around the studio at a frantic pace while finishing the mix.
